The Opportunity of Choice

We live in a world of constant opportunity, and yet we still manage to seldom see it when it arrives before our eyes. We fail to observe the chances that surround us.

Each morning. Evening. The space in between. The choices you make in the window between dusk and dawn. The little choices. What to wear, what to make for breakfast, where the time is best spent and on what thing.

So many choices, each one an opportunity for a good result, or a bad result. Overabundance of opportunity overwhelms us, and so we crumble. We sink. We freeze. We do nothing. Instead of something.

You can choose to create your own opportunities, or make the best of the ones you're given. Or you can do nothing. The opportunity isn't just in the making of a choice, it is the choice itself. The opportunity in the action and in the reflection of it. The choice to smile, as you also choose to accept the task you've been given. The choice to decline one option with grace while accepting another with gratitude. Circumstances occur, but it is the choice you make in regard to them that means more then the circumstances. Choosing to dissect each one, individual, as an opportunity for growth.

The most seemingly insignificant opportunities are often the ones that hold the most in store. And it is often the smallest choices that hold the greatest weight.

An empowerment instead of enslavement is the opportunity of choice.

There can be freedom found in the recognition that it is all up to you.

You choose your life. The responsibility to be a good steward of it is what pushes you to make it the best that it can possibly be.

But only if you choose to.

Seek opportunity. See it. Choose it wisely. Take it. Perfect it.

It's yours if you're brave enough.

''Opportunities Dance''

In every failure, a gateway appears,

Where opportunities dance, dispelling fears,

For those who seek solutions, bright they gleam,

Like stars that grace a midnight's splendid dream.

Let not the stumble halt your hopeful stride,

Rise from despair, let innovation guide,

With optimism as our guiding light,

Success awaits those who persist and fight.

-C.A. Lynch

''Success Unfurls''

In the realm where dreams are shaped, we strive,

With sweat and toil our goals come alive.

Yet success unfurls its enigmatic wings,

Not just for those who labor through painful springs.

For opportunities, like shooting stars they shine,

To those whose eyes keenly seek this divine sign.

A symphony of diligence blends with chance;

Success without vision ignores life's circumstance.

-C. A. Lynch

''Today's Canvas''

Today is not a canvas painted bleak and gray,

But rather, a tapestry woven with colors so gay.

In every mist that hovers, there lies a hidden path,

For those who seek beyond the veil, with hearts steadfast.

Beyond the tangled web of doubts and woes,

Opportunity awaits, with doors left ajar for those

Who choose to see the brightness hidden amidst life's twist,

Today is not bleak or dark; it's chance in countless mist.

-C. A. Lynch

''Boundless Potential''

A good morning, a blank canvas so pure,

A lump of clay with endless design I'm sure.

In its vastness lies boundless potential,

Opportunities intricate, grand and essential.

Imagination's realm knows no border,

Mold this morn with dreams to order.

Serious thoughts converge, ambitions to mold,

May this day be happy the truth so bold.

-C. A. Lynch

''Opportunity''

With doubt and dismay you are smitten

You think there's no chance for you, son?

Why, the best books haven't been written

The best race hasn't been run,

The best score hasn't been made yet,

The best song hasn't been sung,

The best tune hasn't been played yet,

Cheer up, for the world is young!

No chance? Why the world is just eager

For things that you ought to create

Its store of true wealth is still meagre

Its needs are incessant and great,

It yearns for more power and beauty

More laughter and love and romance,

More loyalty, labor and duty,

No chance- why there's nothing but chance!

For the best verse hasn't been rhymed yet,

The best house hasn't been planned,

The highest peak hasn't been climbed yet,

The mightiest rivers aren't spanned,

Don't worry and fret, faint hearted,

The chances have just begun,

For the Best jobs haven't been started,

The Best work hasn't been done.

-Berton Braley.

"Lives of great men all remind us

We can make our lives sublime.

And, departing, leave behind us

Footprints on the sands of time;"

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

(''A Psalm of Life'')

''Keep Ithaka always in your mind.

Arriving there is what you’re destined for.

But don’t hurry the journey at all.''

-C.P. Cavafy (''Ithaka'')
