Stories of the Sky

I wonder if the stars compete for space in the sky. If in the vast galaxy of infinite space, if they still have enough of it. In all the beautiful glory they burn in the sky, do they think themselves the brightest?
Some make up fragments of memory, those of maps and constellations of stories no one remembers. A mirror perhaps, a reflection of what lies ahead of us. Vast beauty, hidden in the unknown, beyond our recognition or capacity.
Is the moon a peaceful ruler, and the sun an overpowering knight that blazes and burns through the day, until the moon casts it yet away, to cover the night in its black silk kingdom? Do these distant titans divide day and night for balance, or merely as a show of dominance?
While the moon befriends the oceans and the creatures of the night, the sun reaps a harvest of flowers, and great forests, that grant the world its breath.
It is of great design that the stars can sit silently in the sky, positioned in their best placement, there for wonder and awe to be instilled. It is an epic clockwork that brings the sun and moon into the sky, two coins of the same currency. Complimentary, that could've instead been a calamity.
They simply are. Bold. Bright. Beautiful. Bigger. Many things in the world are. Our eyes, that probably looks to the stars as they do to us, get to swim in a sea of diamonds, and witness the celestial stories, that take place in the sky each night.
The stars are olden love stories in a sky spun of soul.

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite.
-John Keats
Night's Tapestry
By Luna Evans
Darkness falls, unveiling a tapestry so grand,
woven with stardust by an unseen hand.
Each star a thread, glowing and bright,
a celestial quilt that ignites the night.
With skillful artistry, the constellations align,
depicting stories written in the divine.
Myths and legends etched across the sky,
speaking of heroes, gods, and those who defy.
Oh, the night's tapestry, a masterpiece untold,
unveiling secrets as the universe unfolds.
We marvel at its glory, cosmic and sublime,
lost in its beauty, suspended in time.
The Moon and The Sun
In the sky they dance, a timeless tale
The moon and sun, their love unveiled
He kisses her goodnight, as she fades away
She cradles him at dawn, as he starts the day
The moon, a pearl in the velvet night
Casting silver shadows, a calming sight
She whispers secrets to the dreamers below
A quiet confidante, a celestial show
The sun, a fiery king in his golden chariot
Riding high, blazing a trail unlit
He warms the earth, ignites the day
A beacon of hope, in his radiant way
Together they shimmer, a cosmic pair
Balancing light and dark, a celestial affair
The moon and sun, forever entwined
In a celestial waltz, eternally bind.
